I’m very excited to share this Happs Winery wedding with you!

I love when I get booked to do a wedding in the Margaret River area! Not only do I love the road trip, consisting of loud music and my habitual coffee stop at the Crooked Carrot, but I just love photographing in that area! I am yet to find a ‘bad’ spot as everything is just so picturesque down there. It definitely has the best nature scapes this part of Australia! You’ll be sure to find what you are looking for, whether it be fields, forests, wineries or beaches, you’ll find it there.

Now more about Happs winery: it’s such a lovely little venue in Yallingup. It’s always been a great spot for picnics but now you may even be able to have your elopement there too. The venue has a beautiful garden in front of a private house, perfect for a small number of guests, that’s why this is the perfect host for an elopement ceremony.  (To my knowledge, it does not have the facility to accommodate a large wedding or a reception so if you did want to get married here, you will need to check this with the venue and potentially find a different spot for your reception.) Following the I do’s you can go for a nice little stroll through the garden, stopping at the couple of rows of vines for some ‘vineyard shots’, making your way to the front of the property for some bush land shots. For a fairly small venue, it has great variety.

I & K had a beautiful, overcast day without any rain (that’s one thing to keep in mind when considering getting married in this area: the weather can change quickly). India arrived in a lovely old car while Kayne was excitedly waiting for her on the lawn. The ceremony was personal and heartfelt and after all the formalities was done, we headed out on our walk through the grounds. Our first stop was the old barn as I love the look of the barn with the wine barrels in front, it’s makes for a nice rustic backdrop so that was first on my list.  From there we headed to the vines and although they were bare, they set the scene, considering we’re in wine country and at a winery after all. We finally made our way to the front of the property where the driver in her lovely old car was waiting to transport them to their final destination: a big dinner celebration.

Enjoy this glimpse into I & K’s Happs Winery wedding.
